THAI STRECHING YOGA MASSAGE

1. WHAT IS THAI STRECHING YOGA MASSAGE?

Thai Massage often called the “Lazy Person’s Yoga” because the receiver can simply relax while someone else puts them through various yoga postures.

In Thai Massage, asanas are used, but they are not held for extended periods of time. The focus is more on the flow of the whole treatment rather than on the holding of a particular posture. 

Meditation is not in the scope of the practice and will not be guided. This is not a Yoga Session. 

2. How to prepare for the session:

  1. Thai Streching Yoga Massage is a “Clothes-On” Modality.
  2. Dress in light, loose comfortable clothes that allow for easy movement, as there is a lot of streching, assisted yoga and joint mobilization involved.
  3. Pants or shorts works. Skirts and dresses don’t work well in this modality
  4. This Modality is done bare foot. You may be bring or ask for socks if you need new one.
  5. Watches, Jewelry or any items that may interfere with movements should be removed. 

 

The Session is completely performed on a floor thai mat. Unless, you have selected Table Thai, in which the session is performed in the table.

  1.  Don’t take hot bath or sauna for about a half hour prior to the session
  2. Don’t eat just before the session
  3. After the session, it is fine to eat or take bath / sauna.

 

  1. Over Streching can cause injury. Please communicate when you feel discomfort or pain
  2. Over Twisting can put stress on ligaments. Be always in comfort zone.

  5. Swedish will require use of oil or lotions. This session is draped using sheets. 
  1. This special modality if mainly focused on the flexibility and recovery of the leg muscles
  2. Hip Joint Actions
  3. Knee Actions
  4. Feet Actions
  5. Stretches for legs and lower back

There is no upper body and this is fully clothed session on the table.
